What's Next - WHAT?!

What’s Next Media is a cultural collective by and for young people. We spark and shape digital and creative talent within an inclusive, accessible space for young adults aged 16 to 30.

We provide the right tools, guidance, and space to grow and then set our media makers free to experiment.

Our talent programs connect with the world young people live in and offer real, hands-on experience. That’s how What’s Next Media amplifies the voices of youth in today’s media landscape.

A clear vision

Young people live in the 'present'. They breathe and live tomorrow and shape the future. What’s Next Media offers them a safe spring board and supports their creative media projects.

We focus on three key pillars

Learning by doing
Young creators learn through real experiences At What’s Next Media, they get to experiment, explore and yes, make mistakes.

Our mentoring programs highlight the need for complementary education and help young people build the resilience to create authentic media projects.
Community based development
What’s Next Media builds a diversified community where young people collaborate, share ideas, and grow together. Through their unique lens, they capture fresh perspectives and strengthen youth culture.
A springboard to the future
Whether our young creators are behind a camera or a microphone, producing a documentary or a podcast — at What’s Next Media, anything’s possible. We guide media makers in both their professional and personal growth, preparing them to step into the media world with confidence and turn their dreams into reality.

What's Next? Ambition!

What’s Next Media is driven by ambition. Our mission? To empower young people to conquer the media world.

Six bold goals light the way to 2030.

1. The "media hub"

A place where young creators share their passion for media and let their creativity run wild and free. An experimental playground where they can ‘run, jump, fly, dive, fall, get back up — and keep going’ all with their own media projects. We’re building the media hub of Flanders

2. The digital “hub”

Young creators make content in the Media Hub… but where do they share it? On our all-in-one fully integrated media platform. Every podcast, every report and every story gets its own spotlight. This way, young people stay closer than ever to the content they create and the audience they inspire.

3. The Youth editorial team

At What’s Next Media, the youth editorial team decides what’s new and what’s news. They curate their own content on our platform. They hunt for stories that reflect youth culture, and give them a voice within our (digital) hub.

4. Podcasting is king

Our Media Hub features a fully equipped podcast studio where young people can record their own shows. This is the heart of what we do: no podcast is too big or too small to share your story and be yourself. Through workshops and hands-on guidance, we help new creators find their sound and confidence.

5. Building bridges to the Media Industry

At What’s Next Media, we give young people wings. As a bridge-builder between youth and the professional media sector, we foster a dynamic exchange of ideas. Both sides learn from each other — inspiring growth, innovation, and fresh perspectives.

6. International inspiration

Limburg, Flanders, Belgium, Europe… and beyond! What’s Next Media embraces intercultural learning and strengthens youth projects through global collaboration. Our first international project is already planned for 2026–2027 and it’s only the beginning.
